Someone reading a draft has pointed out that this proposal is to make the whole of the UK into Northern Ireland. Just as well then the DUP are now close to the government, they are the experts in building up a bureaucracy to its advantage using other people’s money
You know, it might even make sense. Out of the UK regions, the ones that have done best economically are the ones that have some measure of devolution. And the ultimate expression of Blair-era devolution is the Northern Irish assembly. It even has a foreign policy of its own these days, and a veto over the terms of Brexit to boot.
