But Guido van Rossum works for Microsoft’s arch-enemy Google! Maybe this is the start of a war over the Python language? It worked out so well for Microsoft with Java, after all.
Well, apparently an embedded Python VM was tried out in the mid-90s but it didn’t work so well. I still reckon it’s a cracking idea.
MS so far seems to be sticking to the notion of meta-Python; one layer up from .NET. I haven’t used Silverlight at all, but AFAIK it doesn’t let you do anything very interesting. PIE, though…
